The CAS Program, which stands fro Creativity Action & Service, has been one of the core requirements for the International Baccalaureate. By undergoing such a program, it has made me, as an individual; more aware about the world we live in. At the Overseas School of Colombo, we were given the opportunity to participate in activities that fit each of these categories and thereafter, evolve independently, learn, be challenged and at the end, look back and reflect. Combining those elements together and acquiring knowledge outside a classroom setting, through this CAS Program, has characterized me as an ‘International Scholar.’ The reason for such a title is because the program makes us see the ‘bigger picture.’ Such a picture can be described through the eight learning outcomes of CAS. By using those outcomes and understanding its significance and necessity, the CAS program helps focus on a global society rather than just the school community. Through the activities we take part in, we engage ourselves and choose to take risks, which makes us more confident, open-minded, liberal, etc. With such a background, it is critically that we have the time to reflect, to look back and to comprehend on the accomplishments we have achieved through CAS. For my final reflection, I have arranged it in the form of a mind map according to the specific categories. Under each title are the list of the activities that have been accomplished within the CAS program, with an additional reflection that shows the connections with the eight learning outcomes.
